SCHEDULING
We try our best to accommodate our patients as much as possible when scheduling appointments. Experience and research has shown that younger children and those who require more extensive treatment have more positive experiences with morning appointments. Patients are generally well rested and better able to cooperate and follow directions during this time.
Some appointments may require a child to miss school time. Usually a child will only miss a small amount of school and this time is considered an excused absence. Our office provides an excuse letter for schools that require one. With continued care, appointments during school hours can be kept to a minimum.
We request 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or change your child’s appointment. We are aware that unforeseen events sometimes require missing an appointment, but we ask that you contact us as soon as possible as a courtesy to other patients who may be waiting for an available appointment time. Continued broken appointments without notice may result in discontinuation of treatment.
FINANCIAL
Your insurance policy is a contract between you and your insurance company. Our office is not a party in that contract. As a courtesy to our patients, our staff will complete and send all your insurance claims forms. In the event we do accept assignment of benefits and your insurance company has not paid your account in full within 60 days, the balance may be transferred to your account. Please be aware that some, and perhaps all, of the services provided may be non-covered services and not considered reasonable and customary under the terms of your insurance policy. Our office has no control over the benefits provided by your employer’s or union’s dental insurance. You may be disappointed to discover that certain services are not covered by your plan or are covered to a lesser degree than you anticipated. While we share your concern, please keep in mind that your dental insurance was selected by your employer or union and your concerns should be voiced directly to them.
All insurance co-pays and deductibles must be paid at the time of service.
Please remember that insurance is a benefit for you and your child. If, during the course of treatment, your benefits change, the financially responsible party is accountable for all charges.
We are happy to discuss our charges and how they relate to your particular situation. We realize that temporary financial situations may affect timely payment of your account. If such problems do arise, we encourage you to contact us promptly for assistance in the management of your account.
